Charles Broadbelt III

Charles Broadbelt III, 72, of Coatesville passed away at his residence on Friday, July 14, 2023. Born in West Chester, he was the son of the late Charles Broadbelt, Jr. and Helen (Helms) Broadbelt. He was the beloved husband of Beverly A. Broadbelt with whom he shared 54 years of marriage.

An area resident most of his life, he was a 1969 graduate of Henderson Senior High School. He went on to serve as a Truck Driver for West Chester Electric, where he worked for over 30 years. He finished out his working career as a Dump truck driver for Road Con before retiring at the age of 63.

Charles was an avid sportsman drag racer and a member of Team Zero Racing. He competed primarily at Maple Grove Raceway in both a Chevelle and later in his son’s Nova. He also enjoyed trips to Myrtle Beach for Bike Week, riding his Harley Davidson, and spending time with his family.

He is survived in addition to his wife by two children: Charles Broadbelt and significant-other Margie A. Granger of Coatesville and Christine A. Broadbelt and significant-other Dennis M. Hagenbuch of Honey Brook. Additionally, he is survived by three grandchildren: Hailey N. Hagenbuch, Aiden N. Hagenbuch, and Charlie L. Broadbelt, Jr.

Services will be private and at the convenience of the family.
