Arlene F. Dalmas

Arlene F. Dalmas, 76, of Pomeroy, passed away on Friday, September 4th, 2020 under the care of Brandwine Hall.  She was the wife of George H. Dalmas, Jr., with whom she had shared over 48 years of marriage. 

Born in Pomeroy, Arlene was the daughter of the late Anna (Schumeister) and Rufus McLaughlin.  She was a 1962 graduate of S. Horace Scott High School.  A resident of Pomeroy her entire life, Arlene was a life member of Pomeroy Fire Co. Ladies Auxiliary.  Arlene was an assistant librarian at Parkesburg Library, retiring some five years ago after 22 years of work.

She is survived by her son, Jared Dalmas, husband of Lara, of West Chester; stepchildren, Larry Dalmas, husband of Ann, of Parkesburg, Michael Dalmas, widower of Joni, of New Holland, Diane Dalmas of Ronks, and step daughter-in-law, Mary Dalmas of Quarryville; and her two nieces, Penny Killian of Coatesville and Kelly McLaughlin of Fort Pierce, Florida.  

She was predeceased by her siblings, Robert McLaughlin, George McLaughlin, Clyde McLaughlin, Frederick McLaughlin, Charles McLaughlin, and Larelda Lowery; and stepson, Paul Dalmas.

A Graveside Service will be held on Friday, September 11th, 2020 at 11 AM at Upper Octorara Cemetery, 357 Octorara Rd, Parkesburg, PA 19365.  A viewing will be held at the cemetery from 10:15 AM until the time of the service.   

In order to protect those at-risk, please wear a face mask and practice social distancing.  If you plan on staying for the service and you have trouble standing for an extended period of time, please considering bringing a lawn chair as seating will be limited.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Arlene's memory to Parkesburg VFW Post 4480 and sent to 406 W 4th Ave, Parkesburg, PA 19365.
