Raymond H. "Butch" Devlin, 79, of Parkesburg, PA, passed away on Saturday, January 15, 2022 at the Lancaster General Hospital in Lancaster, PA. He was called home to heaven and into the open arms of his late daughter Lisa M. Devlin. He was the beloved husband of Marjorie Russell Devlin with whom he shared 60 years of marriage. Born in Coatesville, PA, he was the son of the late Raymond S. Devlin and Charlotte Whiteman Devlin.
Butch was a lifelong resident of Parkesburg, attending Coatesville area schools. He was employed, for 38 years, by the Lukens Steel Company in Coatesville as a first-class machinist. He was a devoted 60+ year member of the Parkesburg United Methodist church. He was also a member of the United Methodist Men.
He spent most of his summers in Marmora, New Jersey at “the beach house” where he boated and enjoyed time spent with the Oak Ridge gang. He enjoyed traveling with his wife Marge and loved anywhere with water and sunshine.
Over the years he was very active and enjoyed snowmobiling, fox hunting, deer hunting, horseback riding, water skiing, and boating. Butch was an avid reader, especially of western fiction. He was an excellent dancer and headed to the dance floor anytime he heard Old Time Rock & Roll. Butch had a great sense of humor and was the life of any party. He was able to pick things up quickly and prided himself on doing various projects on his own. He also enjoyed working on and tinkering with cars. He was a devoted husband, father/father-in-law, grandfather, and uncle that loved spending time with his family.
He is survived, in addition to his wife, by one daughter Beth Devlin Maxwell and her husband David of Gap, PA and two grandchildren Alyssa, wife of Cory Snyder of Lancaster and David J. Maxwell, Jr. of Spring Garden village, PA and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by one daughter Lisa M. Devlin and one sister Katherine D. "Kathey" Newnam.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Saturday, April 23, 2022 at 11:30 AM at the Parkesburg United Methodist Church, 411 West Main St. Parkesburg, PA 19365 with visitation at the church from 10:30 AM to 11:30 AM. Interment will be private at Glen Run Cemetery in Atglen, PA. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in his memory to the Parkesburg United Methodist Church "Love Fund" at the above address.
In order to protect those at risk, please wear a face mask and practice social distancing while at the church.

I could not have asked for a better uncle. Uncle Butch made every get together fun. Whether it was a family event, hanging out or even at church, he would always have me laughing. He told the best stories and had an amazing sense of humor. I love him more than I can express and we named our daughter Devlin to honor him and Aunt Marge. I am so grateful for all of the time that I got to spend with him. I loved every minute of it.
Aunt Marge, Beth, Dave, Alyssa, David and Cory- he loved you so much and could not have been more proud of all of you. I know that his sense of humor lives on with you and will help to carry you through this tough time. Lisa will be happy to be reunited with him.
Even thought I am in Texas, I am always here for each of you. I love you all.

There are no word to say to take your pain away know there are people who love you all. My whole life I grow up calling Him Uncle Butch do to how amazing he was . He was the person who gave me my nickname Turtle . Him and my dad are hunting and playing card together having fun as they watch over us all . Creator has taken home another great person . Uncle Butch I will miss you . You will be loved always .
