Raymond Ritchie, Sr., 78, of Cochranville, passed away Friday, May 24th, 2019 at his home, surrounded by his family. He was the beloved husband of Alberta "Sis" Ritchie, with whom he shared 57 years of marriage.
Born in Collingdale, Pa, Raymond was the son of the late Catherine (Carter) and Elmer Ritchie.
Ray was a graduate of the Collingdale School District. After graduation, he served honorably in the US Navy.
Ray lived the past five years in Cochranville, having spent the previous 42 years in Glen Mills, PA.
He was a Master Plumber, working both for himself and employed by Gillespie & Ritchie Plumbing and Heating. In retirement, he was a partner of Bells Delites of Parkesburg and a partner of the Ritchie Family Dairy Queens.
For ten years, Raymond volunteered in Boy Scouts of America. He enjoyed fishing and boating at Pierce's Point, N.J., hunting, NASCAR, cats, playing slots, and bowling. But he especially loved his grandkids.
His is survived, in addition to his wife, by his four children: Raymond Ritchie, Jr., husband of Nancy, Mark Ritchie, husband of Lisa, Dennis Ritchie, husband of Laurie, and Nicole Okolowicz, wife of Todd; eight grandchildren, Sydney, Patrick, Ian, Ryan, Madelyn, Matthew, Thomas, and Alexa; and his siblings, Robert Ritchie and William Ritchie.
The Memorial Service will be held on Wednesday, May, 29th at 11 AM at Wilde Funeral Home, 434 Main St., Parkesburg, with a visitation from 10 AM until the time of the service.

I had the pleasure of working for the Ritchie Family for 9 years. I would help Mr. Ritchie Sr. clean the ice cream machines at Bell's Delites and he had so much I knowledge about the inner workings and his life experiences. He was an amazing man and he will be greatly missed.
