Reta Elaine Garrett
Reta Elaine Garrett, 80, of Thorndale, went home to be with the Lord on Monday, December 11, 2017 at Thomas Jefferson University Hospital in Philadelphia. She was the wife of the late Rev. Robert P. Garrett Sr., who died in 2007. Born in Parkesburg, she was the daughter of the late James V. Faddis and Reta Mae Werntz Faddis.
Elaine was a graduate of Philadelphia College of the Bible, and owner of Garrett Flooring Materials, LLC in Thorndale, PA.
As a young person she was a member of Upper Octorara Presbyterian Church where she was also married. Along with her husband and oldest son, she co-founded Praise Fellowship Church - a ministry with a strong regional impact for 29 years. In the last couple of years Rev. Elaine served as pastor of Love Alive Fellowship in Coatesville. Her influence for the Gospel is far reaching and her ministry and mission work took her to over 25 nations.
She is survived by five children; Robert and wife Kimberly, David and wife Sandra, Philip and wife Martha, Stephen and wife Milissa, and Reta and husband Owen Watkins, 17 beautiful grandchildren and one older brother Leon Faddis of Reeds Springs, MO. She was preceded in death by one sister Ethel M. Constable, and one brother James Faddis.
Elaine’s love for Jesus and for people was tangible and contagious, so much so that many people affectionately called her “Mom.” It was always her desire that everyone she met come to know the love of God deeply and personally through a vibrant relationship with Jesus Christ. Her passion for God expressed through her compelling stories, relevant Bible teaching and songs of worship were trademarks of her life.
Funeral services will be held at the Upper Octorara Presbyterian Church, 1121 Octorara Trail, Parkesburg, PA 19365, on Thursday, December 14, 2017 at 11:00 AM followed by interment in the adjoining Cemetery. The viewing will be held from 10 to 11:00 AM at the church.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Wilde Funeral Home of Parkesburg. Online condolences can be posted at www.wildefuneralhome.com

Elaine means so much to me and my family. She was a gracious woman with a positive, uplifting spirit. It was a pleasure to be in her presence. Without a doubt, her influence steered our family to a deeper relationship with God; something that I will be eternally grateful for. I regret that I cannot attend her memorial services but please know that I am with you in spirit.
