Our Deepest Sympathy
We both worked with Tony. He was a good friend and co-worker. He will be missed. Our thoughts and prayers go out to his entire family.
Tony's usual cheerful grin
Tony's usual cheerful grin will remain in my mind forever! I knew him best when he was young and so full of hope for the future. He was so ornery! I remember when Pauline would make copius amounts of Christmas cookies and Tony would sneak in the room where the cookie tins were kept and emerge with large handfuls of cookies. The grin on his face said it all. Also, one night when my sisters and I were alone at our house, he snuck up outside the front window and tapped lightly on the window. I was right inside on the sofa in front of that window. I am surprised they didn't hear me scream in neigboring townships! Again, that ornery grin on his face was priceless. I extend my condolences to his family, Joe, Pauleen, Joe Jr., Judy, Joan, and his boys Scottie, Adam and Austin. In the past several years when I would see him, he spoke most proudly of his family, children and grandchildren. My heart is broken. May God grant you the peace that only He can provide.
Unexpected Farewell

With sad hearts . . .
To each of you, Tony's family . . .
It is with very sad hearts that we write after hearing of Tony's passing. I (Becky) found myself instantly transported back in time to the years when our family spent time with yours. Primary is the thought that it was through the passing of my sister Celeste that we came to know your family, as Tony and Judi reached out to us during our great time of loss, and our friendship sprouted from there. Times of us visitng at your farm, giggling over something startling that "the girls" (the chickens) would do, and of you all visiting us in Ohio at our home have played through our minds like reels of an older theatre movie. We shared church challenges, recipes (sweet & sour meatloaf, orea cookie dessert and others), life struggles, and many family joys as well. Scott, Adam & Austin, your riding go carts with our boys and dualing it out on your original Atari game machine. The twinkle that was so often in Tony's mischeiveous eyes will always be mindfully present, as will his words of pride for his family and his striving to supply whatever he could to make his boys' growin' up years be filled with items he likely held symbolic of an idyllic childhood, meant for maximum fun. Today and in the coming weeks, please know that our hearts are right there with you through this painful time. We love you all and are praying for the peace that only God can provide to saturate your souls . . . we so wish we could be there to give you each a strong, loving hug in person. We will be praying for each of you daily, and for your extended family. Remember, you always have Ohio "family"! Whenever may be feeling like you are having a hard day, just look UP.
