Gerald Orville Patton, Sr. 90, of Coatesville, passed away on Saturday April 4, 2015, at his home surrounded by his family.  He was the husband of the late Betty Louise Bossinger Patton who died in 1990 after 43 years of marriage.  Born in Lebanon, PA, he was the son of the late Jackson F. and Sarah Jane Miller Patton.

Gerald was an area resident all his life and a graduate of the Scott High School. He served honorably in the US Navy during WWII.  He was employed by Lukens Steel as a painter and later by Brandywine Hospital as a security guard.

Gerald was past President of the Wagontown Fire Company and Martin's Corner Fire Company and he served as President of the Coatesville Area School District and the Brandywine Valley School District. Gerald was the last survivor of the "Patton Boys" family baseball team.

He is survived by a son, Gerald "Chip" Orville Patton, Jr. and a daughter, Gwendolyn Louise Patton both of Coatesville, four grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.  He was preceded in death by eight brothers and six sisters.

Funeral services will be private at the convenience of the family.
