Robert D. Reel, 78, of Coatesville, passed away on Sunday, July 25, 2010 at the family farm in Highland Twp., Coatesville.  He was the beloved husband of Roma Lantz Reel, with whom he shared 55 years of marriage.  

Born on Saturday, February 6, 1932 in Thorndale, he was the son of the late Anna Kennedy Reel and William Bert Reel.  

He was a 1950 graduate of the Scott Senior High School of Coatesville.  He served honorably  in the Korean War, also serving as part-time Chaplain.  

Robert owned and operated Reels Electric Motor Service of Coatesville for 60 years.  He was also a member of the Sadsbury Police Force.

He is survived, in addition to his wife, by three children: Roxanne Pointek of Christiana, Richard Reel, Sr. of Coatesville, and Ronald Reel, husband of Jean (Combs), of Coatesville; eight grandchildren and seven great grandchildren; his brother, James Reel of Coatesville and sister-in-law, Priscilla Reel of Coatesville.

The Funeral Service will be held on Thursday, July 29 at 1 p.m. at the Freedom Life Christian Center, P.O. Box 10, 447 Noble Road, Christiana, Pa 17509, with Pastor Sam Masteller officiating.  Interment will follow in the Glen Run Cemetery of Atglen.  Family and friends are invited to attend the viewing, which will be held at Freedom Life from 11 until 1 PM. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Freedom Life Christian Center "Building Fund" at the above address.

SO SORRY TO HEAR OF MY BUDDY BOB'S PASSING. I HAVE ALOT OF GOOD MEMORIES OF BOB AT THE SHOP WHEN I WORKED FOR HAYES AND ALSO AT THE STOLTZFUS REUNIONS. HE ALWAYS HAD A SMILE AND HIS DRY SENSE OF HUMOR ALWAYS MADE ME LAUGH. HE LOVED THOSE PHILLIES (AT LEAST IN THE 70'S) I'M SURE YOU WILL MISS HIM. SORRY I WAS NOT ABLE TO MAKE IT TO THE SERVICE. CHERYL'S MOTHER PASSED AWAY ON SUNDAY AND WE JUST BURIED HER YESTERDAY. BLESSING TO YOU DURING THIS TIME.
