Eugene Pavelik, 74, of Coatesville, PA passed away October 3, 2012 at the Neighborhood Health Hospice Services, West Chester, PA after a two year battle of esophageal cancer.
Born in Coatesville, Gene was the son of the late Adam Pavelik and the late Gretna Kurtz Pavelik Wartluft. He was married to Anne Gardiner Pavelik who died February 11, 2009. They shared 47 years of marriage.
Gene first worked at Lambs Gas Station in Coatesville, then for Allegheny Steel in Westwood for 30 years. He last worked at the Coatesville Country Club. Gene enjoyed fishing, hunting and flea marketing.
Besides his parents and wife, Gene was also preceded in death by his brother, Robert Pavelik.
Gene is survived by his sister, Joan P. Brooks wife of Richard Brooks of Gap, PA, a brother-in-law, Clifford Gardiner and his wife Ruth and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
He will be missed by all, especially his best buddy and cousin, Jackie Pavelik, who was a blessing in helping Gene. Also his dog Buster.
Joan and Bud are "deeply grateful" for all the help and care given to Gene by his nieces, nephews, cousins, relatives, friends and neighbors.
We also thank the entire staff of the Ephrata Cancer Center for the excellent care and compassion given to Gene.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, October 8, 2012 at 11:00 am from the Wilde Funeral Home, 434 Main Street, Parkesburg, PA, followed by interment in the Church of the United Brethren in Christ Cemetery of Intercourse, PA.
Family and friends are also invited to attend the viewing which will be held at the funeral home from 10 AM until the time of the service.
