Richard L. Marshall, Sr., 77, of Coatesville, passed away suddenly on Thursday, May 10th, 2012 at the Jefferson Hospital of Neuroscience of Philadelphia. He was the beloved husband of Elsie M. (Semple) Marshall, with whom he shared 57 years of marriage.


Born in Valley Twp., Chester County, he was the son of the late Arthur L. and Elsie R. Burton Marshall. He served honorably in the US Army. He was a member of the Coatesville VFW and a life member Thorndale Fire Co.


He retired from the Brandywine Paperboard Mills of Downingtown in 1997.


He is survived, in addition to his wife, by his two children: Debora Ann Marshall of Coatesville and Richard L. Marshall, Jr., husband of Patti, of Elverson; two grandchildren, Ambrielle Marie and Michael James Marshall; and one sister, Lois Summers.


The Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday, May 16th, 2012 at 11 AM at the Wilde Funeral Home, 434 Main St., Parkesburg, followed by interment in the Fairview Cemetery of Coatesville. Family and friends are invited to attend the viewing from 10 AM until the time of the service.

Elsie, I will miss him. We always had a lot of laughs when I saw him in the VFW. He was a fun loving person. Keep moving forward. Dale Hicks.
