Thomas F. O'Brien, Jr., 88, of East Fallowfield, Pa., passed away on Thursday, December 23, 2010 at the Bellingham Retirement Home, where he has resided since January. He was the widower of the late June Taylor O'Brien who passed away in 2009 after they had shared 65 years of marriage together.
Born in Long Island, N.Y., he was the son of the late Thomas F. O'Brien Sr. and Anna Herman O'Brien.
He served honorably in the US Navy during World War II.
Thomas graduated from Notre Dame with a degree in Chemical Engineering. He was employed by Sandoz Inc. Pharmaceuticals.
He is survived by his eight children, Kathleen Gavin of Drexel Hill, PA, Thomas F. O'Brien III of Orwell, VT, Terrence J. O'Brien of Lisbon, NH, Kevin M. O'Brien of Easton, NH, Maureen J. O'Brien of West Chester, PA, Patricia J. O'Brien of Downingtown, PA, June O. Pearlberg of East Fallowfield, PA, and Ellen M. O'Brien of Conshohocken, PA; nine grandchildren, and three great grandchildren; and his brothers, Robert, husband of Margaret O
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, December 30, 2010 at 11 a.m. at Our Lady of Consolation Church, 603 W. Second Ave. Parkesburg, Pa. 19365 with visitation at the church from 10 a.m. to the time of the service. Interment will be held later at the Old Main St. Cemetery, New London, NH.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Seasons Hospice and Palliative Care, 700 S. Henderson Rd., Suite 225, King of Prussia, 19406.
