Robert W. Stryker, 90, of Ephrata and formerly of Phoenixville, passed away on October 13, 2014, at Hospice and Community Care in Mount Joy. He was the husband of Marjorie Shell Stryker for over 64 years. Born in Tyrone, PA, he was the son of the late Elmer W. and Anna Heeter Stryker.
Robert served in the US Army during WWII and then graduated from Penn State University. He then served in the Army during the Korean Conflict. He was retired from the Phelps School in Malvern. He was a member of the First Presbyterian Church and was president of the Tri State Chapter of 25th Infantry Division.
He is survived by his wife, a daughter, Robin Stryker, companion of Ray Laub, of Lititz, a son Rick, husband of Maureen Stryker of Parkesburg, four grandchildren, Glen, Austin, Tryston, and Logan, two great grandchildren, Jaylyn and Hunter, a nephew, Richard, and four nieces, Patty, Susie, Sally and Bootie. He was preceded in death by a sister, Gladys.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Celebration of Life Drop In on Sunday, October 26, 2014, from 3:00 to 5:00pm at the home of his daughter, Robin, 37 Skyview lane, Lititz, PA. Interment will be held in the spring at Eastlawn Cemetery in Tyrone, PA.
