Virginia Elaine (nee Mayberry) Edwards, 88, of Honey Brook, passed away on Wednesday, December 7th while under the care of Harrison Senior Living of Christiana, PA and Willow Tree Hospice of Kennett Square, PA.  She was the widow of the late Donald H. Edwards, who passed away in 1995. 

Born and raised in Hickory Ridge, Arkansas, she was the daughter of the late Georgie Ruth Urfer and Conrad Lee Mayberry.  She met and married her husband in San Diego in 1947.  They moved to Oxford, Pa. and have lived in Chester County most of her life.  She loved her family very much and was a strong believer in the Lord. 

Virginia liked to write poetry, crochet, draw, paint and she enjoyed fishing.  She made great meals and was a huge Jeff Gordon fan. 

She is survived by her six children: Sharon Smith, wife of George, of Christiana, Ralph Edwards, husband of Pamela, of Glenmoore, Judi Kulp, wife of Raymond, of Florence, S.C., John Edwards and companion Rose Mary, of Honey Brook, Charlotte Ferrell, wife of James, of Narvon and Robin Taylor, wife of Ernie, of Honey Brook, many grandchildren, great grandchildren, great, great grandchildren and daughter-in-law Emily Jean "Jeanne" Edwards.

She was also preceded in death by a son, Ronald Dean Edwards, one grandson R. Dean Edwards, Jr. and siblings, Alberta Lee Kirby and Cameron Mayberry. 

Memorial Services will be held on January 7, 2017 at 11:30am at the Windsor Baptist Church , 213 Little Conestoga Road, Downingtown, PA with visitation at the church from 10:30am to 11:30am.

Elaine, you were a special friend to my mother, Minerva Lantz McGinnis. She loved you for all you were. Thank you for the times you shared together, and now, may you rest in peace.
