Samuel D. Wiggins
Samuel D. Wiggins, 81, of Parkesburg passed away peacefully at his home on Saturday, December 30, 2023, surrounded by his loving family and caregiver, Sellena. Born in Upper Oxford Township, he was the son of the late Phares Granville Wiggins and Sara Louella (Cook) Wiggins. He was the beloved husband of Patricia (Madonna) Wiggins with whom he shared 57 years of marriage.
He was a 1961 graduate of Oxford High School and went on to honorably serve our nation in the United States Army. Samuel served in law enforcement for the VAMC as well as on the Sadsbury Township police department prior to pursuing a career as a Boiler Plant Engineer for the VAMC, with 45 years of federal service in total. He also served as the owner/operator of Wiggins Ceramic Tile, which specialized in tile and marble installation.
Samuel enjoyed traveling, he and his wife visited National Parks across the country and traveled abroad to various destinations. Most of all he cherished time spent with his family and loved ones.
He is survived in addition to his wife by two children: Pamela Pacana and husband Bob of East Fallowfield, and Sharon Hickman and husband Todd of Safety Harbor, Florida. Additionally, he is survived by two grandchildren: Bryce Hickman and Sydney Hickman, and one sister: Jean Trout of Quarryville as well as his beloved cat Jake.
Funeral services will be held at 3:00 PM on Friday, January 5, 2024, from the Wilde Funeral Home 434, Main St., Parkesburg, PA, 19365. Friends and family are invited to attend a visitation period taking place from 2:00 PM until the start of the service. Interment is private honoring Sam's request.
The family would like to extend their deepest appreciation and thanks to Penn Medicine Palliative and Penn Medicine Hospice Care for the exceptional care provided to Sam in his home as well as the love, support and reassurance provided to our family.
