Robert B. Nippes

Robert B. Nippes, 85, of West Chester, passed away on Friday, September 24, 2010 at the Coatesville VA Hospice Center. He was the husband of the late Jean Conley Nippes and his second wife the late Florence Jane Connor Nippes. Born in Aldan, he was the son of the late Burton and Doris Stansburg Nippes. An area resident all his life, he proudly served in the US Army during WWII in the European Theatre with the 1st Engineer Special Brigade. Bob was employed as a printer by Thomas V. Hopper & Sons of Wayne, PA. He was a member of the Advent Lutheran Church of West Chester and the West Chester Masonic Lodge # 322.

He is survived by two sons; David C. Nippes and wife Janis of Honey Brook and Keith N. Nippes and wife Susan of Illinois, three granddaughters; Sarah, Devon and Britney and two brothers; Ronald Nippes of King of Prussia and Richard Nippes of Delaware.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, September 28, 2010 at 11:00 am from the Advent Lutheran Church, 1601 Green Lane, West Chester, PA followed by interment at Valley Forge Memorial Gardens, King of Prussia, PA. Visitation at the church from 10:00 am to the time of the service. Masonic services will be performed at the church at 10:45 am by the West Chester Masonic Lodge #322.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Chester County SPCA, 1212 Phoenixville Pike, West Chester, PA 19380 or the American Cancer Society, 1615 West Chester Pike, West Chester, PA 19382.
