Margaret Eleanor Barnes "Peg" Pierce, 92, of Gap, passed away peacefully at her home on Tuesday, July 9, 2019. She was the wife of the late Earl A. Pierce and her first husband the late William E. Barnes. Born in Coatesville, she was the daughter of the late John T. Gay and Pearl Marie Romig Gay.

Peg was an area resident all her life and a 1945 graduate of the former Scott High School in Coatesville. She was a member of the Parkesburg United Methodist Church, The Piston Poppers Motorcycle Club, the Retreads and the Senior Group Tower Hospital.

She is survived by two children; William E. Barnes and wife Kathy of Coatesville, Roxanne M. Barnes of Gap with whom Peg lived with, stepson Earl Pierce of Georgia, stepdaughter Paula Pierce of Florida, four grandchildren, five great grandchildren and seven siblings, William Gay of Atglen, James Gay of South Carolina, Charles Gay of Florida, Gloria Lyons of Parkesburg, Norma Davis of Coatesville, Barb Chenger of Coatesville, and George Gay of New Holland. She was preceded in death by four siblings, John Gay, Betty Hyman, Dot Kitterman, and Mildred Hess.  

A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Thursday, July 18, 2019 at 11:00 AM at the Wilde Funeral Home, 434 Main Street, Parkesburg, PA with visitation from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM followed by burial at the Hephzibah Baptist Cemetery, East Fallowfield, PA. 

In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made in her memory to Compassus, 2 Campus Blvd, Suite 200, Newtown Square, PA 19073 or the Parkesburg United Methodist Church, 411 Main St, Parkesburg, PA 19365.

We knew she was ill and under Hospice care.  To Roxanne and all the rest of the family we will keep you in our thoughts and prayers.  Really liked your Mom, will miss seeing and talking with her at church.  Sending you love with sorrow.

I'm so sorry to hear about Peg passing. I got to meet her when they ( her & uncle Earl ) can do on his bike. Sorry I didn't get to know her better she was a very sweet lady. God bless you doing this time.
